not every thing is written in laws, that's why there ar el lawyers to explain laws.
In ur case, u are not hired by anybody, meaning u don't work outside campus.and u get paid by ur friend , not by cutomers. ur friends don't have to send money to ur acoount in china. U don't pay taxes.
