2 of 5 years was the new law that started, I am not sure, 2001/2002. But it was definitely not 2000. So before that law took place, you must stay in Canada at least 6 months every year, which was old regulation. Seems like you already gave up your Canada PR. I am just saying these based on my knowledge. You should check with a lawyer or Canada Consulate to make sure.
