if your child will sponsor a spouse for a green card in the future, he/she will need to show his citizenship certificate at that time.  In that case where he/she is the petitioning citizen spouse, USCIS will not just accept US passport as initial evidence for those who got automatic citizenship through Child Citizenship Act of 2000.
