wondering where you got this misleading information, if you have time, go to check other immigration forum, there are tons of cocurrent filing cases of 2003 got approved, but the 2002 cases are still stucking there. certainly, ins will deny your case in case you abuse the cocurrent file to get ead if you are not qulify the certain category.
