Due to certain reason, I have to quit the current job and looking for a new one later, but not sure how long the job hunting will take? I need several months only for me between the new and old job.

My question is: after quitting, is my employer obligated by law to report my leaving to uscis? or they do it if they want. My 140 approved in 2007 and I-485 pending more than 180days. PD is sep, 2006.
