Can not check I140 status ?

My lawyer sent out my I140 and I485 at same time at the end of Sep., and also give me the case number for I140, I485, now I can check the status of I485 on INS website, but why not I can not check the status of my I140, it is always said " no such case number", Is there anything wrong? Is there anyone has the same situation with me? what should I do?

I am in California.
