I don't have experience with

the Chicago office - my state falls under DC. I would suggest that you follow the rules of the Chicago office. It also does not hurt to call the office to clarify - although the answer may depend on who takes your call. I've found communication with these offices to be of a rather "random" nature, unfortunately. Still, it does not hurt to try.
