Question regarding working experience

I am a faculty and the university lawyer just filed I-140 (EB-2) for me. But she did not ask for any supporting letter from my previous working experience. I am wondering under what kind of conditions, approval of previous working experience would be needed? Does resume or approval of previous working experience needed when filing for I-485? No working experience was required in the university Ad for my position. Thank you.
