Take it easy. There are mean people everywhere, even in US. You should ask them to provide help first for the trip arrangement. It's your own decision to go there because you want to try your luck (I am a little bit mean but it is the truth). The truth is, 90% of the time, people don't have good luck.

Don't blame others for everything. Life is tough especially under current recession. Have peace of mind and treat everything calm and cool. Good luck on your job hunting.
