I have talked with two immigration atterney,according to them, it should be no problem to apply unimployment insurance if you make sure the funding of the insurance at your state is purely from employer instead of from federal or some public resources. In our state, first 26 weeks of unimployment insurance is from employer, but for the extended time beyond that(18 months maybe) you can apply according to Obama's new act,the fund will come from federal which should be deemed as public charge, and better not apply that.
