My cousin is going to apply for the F1 visa to USA. However, her father (my uncle) applied for the family member immigration 6 years ago, and is still waiting. Her name showed up on the her father's application. Is this situation going to affect her visa due to the tendency of immigration?

Can they resolve the problem if her father cancel the immigration application? Thanks for your help.
