I called a month ago, and

they filed an inquiry for me. Still no response. It seems that the 1-800 service line people do not really have much access to the USCIS system (i.e. if you give them alien number, they will not be able to check anything for you. In local INS office they could). What 1-800 line could check for you doesn't seem to be more than what you and I could check from the USCIS website. Anybody else has experience with the 1-800 line?
