Help! 485 Pending, Laid-off, Question on new job

My status: EB2, 140 approved, 485 pending for more than 180 days.

Due to the current financial crisis, I have to leave my current empolyer (an private equity fund) soon. I am a Senior Investment Analyst at the fund, primarily making analysis on potential investment targets and provide recommendations. To get a job after this one, I am currently interviewing with a manufacturing corporation as a Finance Manager, whose major responsibility is to conduct financial analysis, planning and projections. By the way, the new job's base pay may be $15K higher.

I plan to use EAD for the new job. I wonder whether I can argue the new and current jobs are the same in nature for my 485 purpose. What are the impact, if any, to my pending 485, if I take the new job?
