layoff after filing 485

Hi, I was laid off recently. I filed i485 last July and I got an EAD card that expired 10/14/08. Do I need to apply an EAD in case I find a job?

The company's attorney did the work for me. Now I am no longer with the company, can I file for EAD by myself?

How much time do I have to find a job? Any risks? Thanks!
