what;s the meaning of the updated

My hu*****and got his I140 approved last May,PD is 5/1/2006,aprroved 140 was updated in last Nov. Last July we filed 485 with AP,and used it to visit China,Later,each member's AP was updated in July.But yesterday I found each member's 485 has also been soft updated,I don't know what the meaning,who can tell me about that.Thanks a lot!
