No visa needed. Both the US and Canadian officers on the boarder asked my immigration status. I told them I am a permament resident. Then they asked for GC. I told them that the card will be mailed and I got a stamp on my passport. One (the US side) checked the stamp the other did not even turn to the stamp page to look.
I also brought the approval notice and AP. Though none of them are needed.
