Can I talk it with my company?

I made the I-140 and I-485 applications in an university, and moved to my current company last October. The company has attorneys to deal with immigration issues for employees. I am not sure if I should report my situation to them and ask them to file the "motion to reconsider" or I should do it without noticing them. Please provide your suggestion.
