I filed EAD by myself. In my opinion, it is not necessary to hire lawyer to work on this type of case. I have renewed my EAd five times since 2003. You can estimate how much I paid to INS. Anyway, my application was sent out on 6/26/08. The official received day was 7/2/08. I got the notice on 7/9/08.
