I am not sure if your 485 will be put into suspended before it becomes current. But it will be put into suspended when your 485 becomes current but you are abroad with AP.
You may need to come over and stay here once your 485 becomes current till you get your GC. It should be different if you are dependent. As principle you should absolutely not go abroad.
