Tks. Unfortunetely it is not a very relaxing process.

I had real bad experience re. biometrics when I renewed my EAD end of 2006. My biometrics was expired at that time but they never sent me the biometrics notice. As a result, it caused significant delay of approval of my EAD renewal. If I did not go to infopass several times to find out it was pending on biometrics and set appointment via the infopass, I would not get my EAD renewal in time. At the end, I got my EAD renewal approval notice 3 days prior to my expiration date. (at that time, the local office was no longer permitted to issue interim EAD) One infopass staff was very helpful during the entire process. She used their internal phone system to request status updating, faxed and emailed the USCIS... And finally set up an appointment for me and informed the USCIS that my biometric result was on the way......
By the way, during that process, I called the customer services 3 times, who issued three service tickets to ask the USCIS to send me the notice of biometrics appointment. Never worked out. Though after every ticket was issued, the customer service won't take my follow-up within 30 days.
