My mother in law reentered after denial of extension. Her first I-94 expired 6 days when she left. The custom did question her why she came back so soon(less than a month), but didn't ask about the overstay. I don't know whether the overstay was not that long or the custom officer didn't notice that. Anyway, who cares!
