I tried once, spent the whole morning dialing the same phone number, finaly got through and told them I had filed 485 for more than a year but still hadn't got the finger print notice. I got the finger print notice in less than two weeks. You can also send a fax inquery. they may ignore your fax inquery, but you can send a secondary 1 month after your first inquery.
