I am still having pending I485 while my spouse is holding H4 visa. So far I am just waiting for my PD to be current so that I am able to file her AOS.

If F1 is not likely to be granted, I guess the guy needs to wait for his citizenship approved in 4 or 5 years.

For him, do you think following way is applicable?
1. void GC and get back to H1B
2. his wife apply for H4
3. waiting for his PD to be current and refile I485 for both

Since his I140 has been approved, only AOS needs be refiled. But If the owner changed his job, he has to redo the whole process, from PERM (or EB1) -> AOS
