But I just want to point out that reentry permit is for LPR(lawful permanent resident), not for AOS like you. You read the wrong portion. You should move down to read the part for "advanced parole". That does not have the limitation.
I do read official notice from USCIS that AOS applicant travels with old AP while a new AP is pending, and new pending AP is considered valid. So, no problem in your case.
