I am in the same situation as you are. I have checked with several schools, I was told if you don't have GC then you are the international student.

this is very frustration things.

I am also looking for some advices or some info about which school or in which state may have an alternate policy over this issue. now I have more or less everything approved, SSN, EAD, I140 and just I485 is pending, but all these seem don't helps.
