Clarification about six months passport rule

Just called Custom and Border Protection officer at LA (310-568-7545), the
answer is:

(1) Entering with Visa: passport must be at least six-month valid;
(2) Entering with Green Card or Advance Parole: passport needs to be valid
only.

Hope this is helpful. However, if you can change passport in China, it's
even better.
