If I encounter the background check in Canada, can I go back U.S. for waiting for the background check results if I have AP? Once the background check clear, I will go to Canada again for the stamping. Does it make sense?

Another question. In case the H4 is approved after I start woring by using the H1B visa, I will activate EAD immediately for continuously working. But I still don't want to loose the H1B status so easily. (My H1B visa has more than 5 years to use) In this case, can I go to Canada to re-activate the H1B visa if I intend to do so?
