TN to GC

my hu*****and is on H1-B, I'm on TN, my hu*****and's employer is sponsoring our whole family for GC. Since I'm TN which does not allow for immigration intention, my friends told us that my hu*****and can file for I140 without putting my name down and later on add me when filing I485. Is that true? Thanks.
