another question: H1B extention!

My wife held H4 visa, and of course, I was and am H1B. Then she found a job, and the boss changed her status from H4 to H1B. However, her H1B will expire at the exact same time as my H1B because her status is still following mine. Question is: If I extend my H1B after 6 years, could my wife extend her H1B at the same time? I work in a university, and it is possible if my I-140 get approved, but my wife is working in a company.
