請教: Is it OK H1B extension gets approval while I'm not in US?

My current H1-b is going to expire at the end of November and I am applying 7th-year H1b extension and haven't got the approval. I plan to visit China with AP in October. If my 7th-year H1b extension gets approval while I am in China, will the approval still be valid?
