What's the significance of finger prints? I only did one.

I see many people did two FPs. And everyone seems to know the dates of the FPs. But I have been required to do only one after filing I140 and I485 at the same time. Didn't think it was that that important. Now, my I485 has been approved. How come I was not asked to do the second one? I'm quite curious.
