got RFE email from USCIS

My LD just got email from uscis to ask additional evidence for I485. I am a primary applicant. He is the dependent. Is it normal that I have not receive RFE letter and he has? Anyone who has same experience please share it. Our 485 is pending for 10 month. do it mean his NC is clear? who is USCIS mailing the request notice to, lawyer or us?
