J-1 visa wants to stay!!!!!!!!

Hi all. My J-1 visa will be expired in June, but I have troubles going back to the sending country which is NOT China. However, little is known when these problems can be cleaned off before I could back, I want carry on study in the U.S. Can you tell me how can I extend visa? If I find a work placement can I apply work visa?
