If that boss would like pay you salary for H1 requirement, you can try. But stay your current university and keep your F1 until H1 approval. Thus even if H1 deny, you are still in F1 staus. Don't quit now.

That H1 will not take up quota, so you can ask that boss apply H1 with premium for you now. If he don't like pay premium, you can pay by yourself. $1000.
