Idon't think that I864 is required for filing I-485 in your case

My case is exactly the same as yours. Please read the following paragraph regarding "Affidavit of Support" in the Instructions of the official I-485 form:

-- Affidavit of Support

an Addidavit of Support (Form I-864) if your adjustment of status application is based on your entry as a fiance(e), a relative visa petition (Form I-1300 filed by your relative, or an employment based visa petition (Form I-140) related to a business that is five percent or more owned by your family.

Since I don't own five percent or more of my employer's business, I don't think that I need to provide this form. What I need to provide is the "Employment Letter" issued by an official of my employer.

I am not quite sure whether my understanding is right.
