did not read it carefully enough. it is suspected the remote sensor is bad, not temporature sensor. Like rad said, you can use switch on the indoor unit to control it, if any. But many lower end AC's do not have swtich at all. Everything is by remote control.

How do you know it is the remote sensor? unlike temperature sensor, it is an electro-optical thing that seldom goes bad.
