I have done some research on the WOM here before and eventually decided to try to work with the USCIS rather than go against them. Communication is always the most important thing, as a solution to every problem in my life.

I tried to talk my problem through at an inforpass to the USCIS officers and their supervisor sometime in Feb. I got their promise that they would definetely look into the issue at the end. A week later I received a email from the supervisor that my NC has been cleared. I then did the second FP on Mar 9th and my 485 was approved on Mar 15. It is faster than WOM and I have not taken too much stress out of the process.

The USCIS officers are people like us. They just have to deal with too much cases everyday and they tend to use some excuse to delay our inquiries. If they tell you that there is no way to speed up the NC from FBI, They are lying. As FBI's biggest customer, they have tons of ways to get your NC result as quickly as they want. You just have to deal with them in a smart way. Good luck!
