Xiaobaitu and other experts, please help

I am now AOS (I-140 approved and I-485 pending). I was a J-1 visa holder before I ted GC application. Right now I am working with EAD. My question is if it is useful for me to apply for H1-B visa. My employer is willing to file it for me. I heard that you will be AOS if you use EAD during H1-B. But it is different for my case because I first used EAD and then apply for H1-B. Please help me figure out if it is worth applying for H1-B visa. In addition, I don't want to renew my EAD every year with increasing filling fee. Your suggestion and reply will be greatly appreciated. thanks.
