I don't think affadavit of support will help

If you pay all the expenses, the vo probably will not ask for their financial documents. Just make sure you have enough money on the bank statments and 3 month paycheck stub, Letter of good standing with your stipend on it.

My parents are poor too, the VO did not ask for their income.
