It seems that PD can only be transferred among approved 140s.

If your former employer agrees to file LC-based 140 for you, you may still have hope (though you do not need to go back to work for them). Otherwise, you may need to try Eb1-a. Since your NIW has been approved, you may have high chance to get your EB1-a approved.
