is it legal for H-1B to H4 trasfer? Help!

I would transfer my H-1B to H4 following with the petition of my hu*****and H-1B trasfer from university A to the university B, I could legally stay in USA as H4 after my hu*****and receive the receipt of his H-1B transfer from USCIS, even that time I lose my current H1B status, is this right?
