Basiclly, 10 days after H-1b expired, the h-1b will totally expired. The new job for 485 is required to do as the same or similar job which you had in the old H-1b. However, someone may not find the job in a certain time. Then you will have a certain time to get your new job. The certain time is accumulate days within 180 days. Once you are over 180 days, you will be not allowed to enter US from three-ten years.
