I have some problems and need your help badly.
My first three years H-1B is going to expire very soon ( in the beginning of Oct.) I need to apply for the visa extension.The problem is that my passport is also going to expire at the same time (Oct 2nd ) .I have to apply for the extension of my passport as well.
I called the Chinese Embassy In DC before the Christmas and explain to them that I need to renew my passport ASAP because it's very slow for the H-1B process and I have to apply earlier.They told me that they can't extend my passport now ,I have to wait until six months before the expire date which means I have to wait until April.I don't know how long it's going to take for the passport extension in the Embassy ,and I am very worried that if I'll have enough time to apply for the H-1B extension.It seems to me that there is definitely not enough time.
What should I do with my passport extension ? Do you think that the Chinese Embassy will help me ? Does anybody have any idea whether I can still work if I haven't received the new H-1B when my current one expires? I am working in a university institute.
Please ,please help me. I am so worried that I can't even sleep.Thank you very much.
