I hold a J1 visa, and I got my J1 visa waiver. Now, I ask my boss sponsor a H1b for me , he approved. The problem is the personnel officer said my prevailing wage should be 42500/year in NM,and they want to use this reason to stop my boss sponsor H1b for me. in fact, I am only a postdoctor, so, how to make my prevailing wage lower. My boss said he can move some money from other grant for me but I think it is a little higher than he think. Now, I make 35000/year, postdoc, second year. If I need to let my boss know if my title changed, he can save some money? give some advice. Thank you!
