You may go to sue the government at the district court

(usually in your local federal building,the judge may issue a order to speed up the name check,but he/she can't effect the final result on your case ( approval
or denail).If you're a spouse of a US citizen ,& you
have had your baby with your citizen spouse,go head,CIS
can't find a excuse to deny your I-485 .
Otherwise,you should analyse your case carefully ,then make your decsion.
I doubt the price for hiring an attorney,usually no an
attorney would like to deal the kind of case except the
client pay a few thousands.
