you can file H4 by yourself

It's very easy. Fill up Form I-539. I remember you need copies of your wife's H1b, certificate of marriage, your passport, previous visa, I-94 and maybe (maybe not)your current H1b and receipts of I-140 and I-485. Read the instructions. You have to get H4 since I-485 is not really pending without I-140 approval.
