H1-B to EAD salary question. Please

I will take another job on 14 August using EAD. My current employer want to hire me as part time. I am currently working under H1-B. My question is:

Can my current employer pay me full month salary for August? Or only the salary covering the period from August 1-13 and then start new pay as part time employee?
