you'b better be careful, I almost have same situation like you, I quitted my job before University B received my H1b transfer receipt notice. However, university B made a mistake since they forgot attached check with my petition, so my case got returned, if same thing happen on you, you will have a gap there, so be sure to get receipt first, then the quit your job. if university A has to terminate your current job, you can use your sick day or vacation to extend your employment time. Don't listen what Univeristy A visa office said. good luck!!
