May be I am too much out of date. What is meant by "re-ted". If the first university still consider that you are their employee, you are not out of status. But the problem is that because the second univeristy already told CIS that you were out of status since 7/1. Unless you supply CIS an employment letter from the first university stating that you are their employee until now, CIS wont approve your status change. So you have to leave to complete the transfer. You better leave as soon as possible. However because you use premium process, it won't take long to know the news.You may stay to wait for the news. The longer you are out of status, the worse the chance of a Visa. You need a letter from the second univeristy stating the reason to improve your chance.
