請教小白兔: Criminal record statement

Does an AOS applicant still need to attach a "(No) criminal record statement" from a police station in his/her home country to I-485? Or (s)he simply need to fill out the G-325A form? If yes, how recent does it have to be?

Please do not laugh if this question sounds stupid. This world has changed too fast.
